The Borneo International Yachting Challenge, the first truly international yachting event in the waters off Borneo, is a joint effort of two Malaysian Borneo States, Sarawak and Federal Territory (F.T.) of Labuan, organised under the auspices of Tourism Malaysia, Ministry of Urban Development & Tourism, Sarawak Tourism Board, Ministry of Tourism Malaysia and Labuan Corporation. This event comprises of three parts, namely the Labuan Harbour Regatta, the Passage Race from Labuan to Miri and the Miri Bay Regatta.

This year’s Borneo Race is in its 5th season and with Brunei as the next potential race partner, the race will see added interest and attraction and draw in more participants. Since 2003 we have had an average of 20 boats from all over the world participating, from as far as St Vincent.

All participating yachts, please be advised that the Labuan Waterfont Marina is still UNDER CONSTRUCTION WHICH HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY SOUNDED AND DREDGED. All yachts are advised not to enter or to berth in the Marina Basin. However, all yachts are advised to anchor at the other side of the breakwater at their own risk and liability. All the best and safe navigation and anchoring.
